The Yerevan vase is an interpretation of the contrasts, shapes and materials that embody the soul of the Armenian capital, a city where the diverse architecture discloses the political and social complexity of the previous century. The vase is materialised in abstract shapes inspired by Soviet modernist monuments and traditional Armenian churches. The piece, created in the characteristic volcanic rock that covers so many of the facades of the city, was developed in close collaboration with a local stonemason.
